Proverbory Privacy Policy

Proverbory is a vocabulary and ideas app for iPhone, made by Desk Monkey LLC. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The same policy appears in the app under Settings → About & Privacy.

What stays on your iPhone

Your library (saved words, sayings, concepts, and other cards), your review and quiz history, and your settings are stored on your device. They are shared only with Proverbory's own widget and share extension through an app group on the same device. Proverbory has no accounts, and none of this is sent to the developer.

If you export a backup, the file goes wherever you choose to save or share it.

Word lookups

When you add a word that isn't in the built-in catalog, the app looks it up:

If Wiktionary can't be reached, the word is sent to the Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev) instead. Free Dictionary API

Only the word you typed is sent. No name, account, device identifier, or other personal information is included. Autocomplete while you type uses your iPhone's built-in word list and stays on the device.

On-device AI

On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, Proverbory uses Apple's on-device language model to write the entry for a word (definition, pronunciation, comparisons, usage). This runs entirely on your iPhone; the word is not sent anywhere for this step.

Purchases

The free trial and the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple through the App Store. Proverbory never sees your payment details or Apple Account; the app only learns from Apple whether the trial or the unlock is active on your device.

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Proverbory does not use push notifications.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Proverbory contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites. The app writes diagnostic events only to your device's own system log, which the developer cannot access.

Children

Proverbory is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address and in the app, with a new effective date.
